Chapter 1131: Sister Zhen
An You stood quietly and respectfully.
Ye Guan remained silent for a while before leaving.
Before long, Ye Guan arrived at the Ancient Desolate City of Nanzhou.
By a riverside, Ye Guan saw Nalan Jia. Nalan Jia seemed to have sensed something and turned around. When she saw Ye Guan, a sweet smile appeared on her face.
Ye Guan walked over to Nalan Jia. He held her hand and asked, "Are you tired?"
Nalan Jia nodded. "It's mainly because I'm not capable enough. Over these years, I've made a mess of the Guanxuan Universe and the Immortal Treasures Pavilion. I've let both you and Grandma down."
Ye Guan shook his head. "It's not your fault. The greatest mistake is mine."
Nalan Jia was about to speak when Little Pagoda chimed in, "Neither of you is at fault."
Ye Guan and Nalan Jia froze.
Little Pagoda continued, "The biggest mistake is your father's. He only cared about enjoying himself and handed over such heavy responsibilities to you at such a young age. Not to mention you two—even if it were the Yang Family members, they wouldn't be able to manage such a vast civilization.
"So, there's no need for you to blame yourselves. All the mistakes stem from your father."
Ye Guan and Nalan Jia exchanged smiles.
Nalan Jia suddenly caressed her stomach with a puzzled look. "Little Guan, logically speaking, this child should have been born a long time ago. Why hasn't that happened yet?"
Ye Guan was also confused. "Master Pagoda, do you know what's going on?"
Little Pagoda replied, "You were born late, too."
Ye Guan was surprised. "Me?"
Little Pagoda confirmed. "Yes, it's a matter of bloodlines. The child in the Little Mistress's womb likely has at least two, maybe even three, extraordinary bloodlines. Simply put, remarkable people tend to be born late."
Ye Guan hesitated for a moment and then asked, "Could the baby be a Chosen One?"
"No, the Yang Family will no longer have any Chosen Ones."
Ye Guan grew curious. "Why not?"
"I dare not say."
Ye Guan was speechless.
Ye Guan decided not to press Little Pagoda about it.
After spending three days with Nalan Jia, he left the Guanxuan Universe and made his way to the Tribulation World.
The Evil Dao's power was still growing at an astonishing rate. Compared to the first time he saw it, the Evil Dao's aura had grown dozens of times stronger. Since the First Hall Master came from the so-called "Divine Ruins," the Evil Dao was likely from there as well.
Ye Guan cast a deep look into the distance before turning around to leave.
"Leaving just like that?" A voice suddenly echoed from behind him.
Ye Guan trembled slightly. He turned around to see a woman standing not far away, smiling at him. She had white hair, and she was wearing a flowing wide-sleeved robe; she was exuding both elegance and beauty.
Ye Guan stammered, "Sister Zhen..."
Cizhen smiled gently and asked, "Are you not even going to say anything to me before leaving?"
Ye Guan lowered his head slightly and said, "I'm still not strong enough..."
Cizhen walked up to Ye Guan and grabbed his hand.
"I don't mind," Cizhen said.
Ye Guan was silent.
"I'll wait for you to come save me."
"Sister Zhen, you..."
Cizhen blinked and said, "I can hold on for three more years."
Ye Guan chuckled and hugged her before saying, "I won't make you wait too long."
With that, he turned around and flew away on his sword, disappearing into the starry sky.
Cizhen smiled and watched as Ye Guan disappeared into the distance.
Just then, Cirou and Cishu walked out from the side.
Cizhen said softly, "He suffered a lot this time, right? He's become much more mature."
Swoosh!
However, the man abruptly erupted into flames, reducing himself to ashes.
Ye Guan frowned, puzzled. Huh? Why did he kill himself just because he can't win?
After a moment of silence, he retrieved the storage ring left behind by the man. Ignoring it for now, he focused on the golden symbol floating in front of him. The symbol emitted a golden sheen and was composed of mysterious runes filled with immense power.
Ye Guan was a bit curious. "What is this?"
Little Pagoda replied, "A loot drop."
Ye Guan had no idea what to say.
Ye Guan stared at it for a while but couldn't figure it out. In the end, he put it away and looked around briefly before soaring away on his sword.
Three hours later, Ye Guan finally saw some starlight. A smile appeared on his face as he sped up, and he soon made it out of the dark expanse.
He turned around to look back and saw an endless abyss of darkness. The abyss emanated a sinister and fearsome aura.
Ye Guan murmured with some confusion. "What exactly is that place?"
"%##@." A voice suddenly echoed from the side.
Ye Guan turned and saw a man not far away. He was dressed in a black robe, and an old man was standing behind him.
The man wasn't speaking the common language of the Guanxuan Universe, so Ye Guan couldn't understand him at all.
Noticing Ye Guan's expression, the man quickly realized that his words weren't comprehensible to Ye Guan. He opened his palm, and a stone floated over to Ye Guan.
Ye Guan was a little puzzled.
The man gestured with his right hand, signaling for Ye Guan to place his hand on the stone.
Ye Guan looked at the stone for a moment before placing his hand on it. The next moment, dozens of languages flooded into his mind.
The man then asked, "Are you from outside?"
Ye Guan nodded. "Yes."
The man froze for a moment before asking, "You really came out from there?"
"Yea. Why?"
The man's expression turned peculiar.
Seeing the man's strange gaze, Ye Guan became curious. "What is that place?"
The man said in a deep voice, "You don't know?"
Ye Guan shook his head. "I just arrived here, so I'm unfamiliar with the area."
The man looked at him cautiously before saying, "That place is a famous battlefield in the Divine Ruins; it's called the Otherworld Battlefield."
Ye Guan was surprised. "Otherworld Battlefield?"
The man nodded and explained, "Long ago, a general from the Divine Ruins Empire and a foreign god fought here, shattering that patch of starry sky. For billions of years, it has remained in a state of disrepair."
Ye Guan was intrigued. "Divine Ruins Empire?"
"It was once an incredibly glorious empire, but due to internal strife and the invasion of the foreign gods, it became nothing more than just a name," the man replied. Then, he stared at Ye Guan, asking, "Where are you from?"
Ye Guan replied, "The Guanxuan Universe."
The man furrowed his brows and thought for a moment before shaking his head. "I never heard of that place."
"Have you heard of the First Hall Master?"
The man shook his head again. "Never."
"How about the Evil Dao Alliance?"
The man still shook his head.
Refusing to give up, Ye Guan asked, "How about Clan Leader Jing?"
The man shook his head once more.
Ye Guan pondered and asked once more, "Have you heard of the Great Daoist Brush Master?"
The man hesitated for a moment and then said, "Well, I've heard of him..."
Ye Guan was dumbfounded to hear that.
