Chapter 1101: The Immortal Treasures Pavilion Does Not Welcome You
Ye Guan and Yang Yian sat uneasily, feeling as though they were on pins and needles. They had, after all, stolen buns from this woman in the past.
Yang Yian was particularly nervous. She held Ye Guan's arm tightly and kept her head down without saying a word. She hadn't just stolen from them once. She had done it multiple times.
Seeing the confusion on the woman and Fu Ji's faces, Ye Guan smiled and said, "I don't think we've met before."
"I see," Aunt Jiao said, chuckling. "Hahaha, I must be mistaken, then."
With that, she pulled Fu Ji up beside her and knelt directly before Ye Guan and Yang Yian.
Ye Guan quickly stood, gently raising his hand to lift the two of them with a wave of gentle energy.
"Aunt Jiao, what are you doing?" asked Ye Guan.
Aunt Jiao replied, "Young Lord Ye, Fu Ji has told me that it's because of you that he can represent Qingzhou in the Wanzhou Martial Contest. Without you, it would have been impossible. I don't understand the world of cultivators, but I-I must kowtow to thank you."
Aunt Jiao attempted to kneel again, but Ye Guan's sword intent held her gently in place, preventing her from doing so.
"Aunt Jiao, there's no need for this," said Ye Guan with a smile before glancing at Fu Ji.
Fu Ji quickly helped his mother to her feet and said, "Mother, let's eat first."
"Yes, yes, let's eat!" Aunt Jiao nodded, regaining her composure. "These are the buns I steamed today, and they are made with the best meat today. Please, try them!"
She pushed the basket of buns toward Ye Guan and Yang Yian.
After the meal, Ye Guan and Yang Yian promptly left. Aunt Jiao was visibly delighted because both of them had eaten every last bit of the food she had prepared, and they even took a few extra buns with them before leaving.
While cleaning up the table, Aunt Jiao said, "Fu Ji, that friend of yours is definitely an important figure."
Fu Ji looked at her, puzzled. "Why do you say that?"
"It's just my intuition. For him to value you means our Fu Family's ancestors must be smiling upon us. I'm not educated, but I understand one thing—one must remember those who've shown you kindness. You must work hard to repay him in the future, understood?"
"I understand." Fu Ji nodded. "Anyway, about you and Uncle Butcher... maybe it's time to make it official?"
Aunt Jiao was momentarily taken aback.
"If it hadn't been for him, we wouldn't have survived all these years," Fu Ji added.
Aunt Jiao bowed her head silently, and tears welled up in her eyes.
She had some feelings for Uncle Butcher, yet she hadn't dared to act on them, fearing that it would bring hardship to Fu Ji or become a burden to Uncle Butcher.
Besides, Fu Ji was initially resistant to the idea, so she never allowed herself to consider it seriously. She never expected that her son would bring it up himself.
Just then, Fu Ji glanced at the door. The bare-chested Uncle Butcher was standing outside and sneaking glances into the room.
"Uncle Butcher, come in," Fu Ji said with a smile.
Uncle Butcher hesitated, then entered, chuckling awkwardly. "Fu Ji... I heard you're going to represent Qingzhou in the Wanzhou Martial Contest?"
Fu Ji nodded. "Yes."
Uncle Butcher immediately gave him a thumbs up. "Amazing, truly amazing!"
Fu Ji walked over to him and took out a bottle of medicine. "Uncle Butcher, this is a pill from the Sword Sect that can treat your chronic chills."
Uncle Butcher stood there, frozen, unsure how to react. Aunt Jiao kicked him lightly. "What are you standing there for?"
Uncle Butcher accepted the bottle of medicine with trembling hands. "Fu Ji..."
Fu Ji then said, "You two should make things official soon."
Uncle Butcher was still bewildered. "Wh-what do you mean?"
Aunt Jiao shot him a glare, and then she looked at her son with a smile. "No rush. We'll take care of it after the contest."
"Alright. When the time comes, I'll help organize everything for you," Fu Ji said.
Aunt Jiao grinned in joy while Uncle Butcher still looked confused.
As they wandered around, they eventually came to the second floor. Just as they were about to enter, a manager stopped them. He smiled and said, "This is a buffet restaurant; entry costs ten spiritual crystals per person."
Yang Yian's face changed instantly. She did some quick calculations on her fingers and realized that twenty spiritual crystals were equivalent to a ton of steamed buns.
Ye Guan extended twenty spiritual crystals to the manager.
Yang Yian quickly grabbed his arm. "No, it's too much..."
Ye Guan said, "There's a lot of good food in there. Let's just try it once."
Hearing that there was plenty of delicious food made her hesitate, but she still felt guilty about the price. They had bought so much food outside for just a dozen silver coins.
While she was still worrying, Ye Guan had already led her into the buffet restaurant. The restaurant was enormous, decked out in grand, luxurious decor. As they walked in, the open space seemed to envelop them.
"Wow!" Yang Yian exclaimed, completely stunned. She had never been in a place like this before!
A broad stone counter covered with all kinds of dishes was in front of them.
It was an extravagant sight.
Ye Guan handed her a plate, smiling. "You can take as much food as you want. Go see if there's anything you like, and feel free to try whatever looks good."
Ye Guan picked up a plate and walked over to another section. There was a vast selection of food from every region, with recipes crafted from across the universe region. The place was popular with many people and often frequented by Qingzhou's elite.
After a while, Ye Guan returned with a full plate and found Yang Yian. When he looked at her plate, he was taken aback. There were only five steamed buns on her plate!
"Why did you only take steamed buns?" asked Ye Guan.
Yang Yian said, "I don't feel like eating anything else."
"Why not?" he asked.
Yang Yian hesitated, then replied, "If I try really delicious food, I'm afraid I won't like steamed buns as much anymore."
Ye Guan gently patted her head, smiling. "But we already paid. If we don't eat enough, won't that be a waste?"
Yang Yian thought for a moment and nodded. "You're right!"
Ye Guan smiled and picked up a large lobster from nearby, placing it on her plate. "Try this... here, let me peel it for you."
Ye Guan peeled a lobster and gave the meat to Yang Yian.
Yang Yian took a small bite, and her eyes lit up.
Ye Guan grinned. "Is it good?"
Yang Yian nodded quickly. "Delicious!"
Just as Ye Guan was about to speak, a voice echoed from nearby. "Who told you that you can sit here?"
Ye Guan turned to see a young lady glaring at them with a hostile expression. She looked to be around twenty years old, and she was dressed in a light red gown. She was reasonably attractive, but she looked a bit fierce.
He looked at her with some confusion. "Is something wrong with this spot?"
The lady snapped, "What, don't you know this spot is taken?"
Ye Guan frowned slightly and glanced at the table, noting that there was no food or indication that it was reserved.
Just then, a manager from the Immortal Treasures Pavilion hurried over and respectfully bowed to her. "Lady Qin, I apologize; this was an oversight on our part..."
He then turned to Ye Guan, looking somewhat apologetic. "Sir, this table is a reserved one, as you can see..."
The manager pointed to a red sign on the table.
Ye Guan finally understood and looked back at the lady. "Apologies, my little sister and I are dining here for the first time. We'll go and find another table..."
Ye Guan lifted their plates and got ready to move, but the lady waved her sleeve dismissively. "No need."
With that, she turned around and walked away.
Shortly afterward, an elderly man in a black robe approached Ye Guan and Yang Yian. He looked at them with a grim face and said, "The Immortal Treasures Pavilion does not welcome the both of you. Please leave."
