Chapter 252: Allison The...!
Chapter 252: Allison The...!
The rest of the day passed with no incident, what fate awaited the strange boy was up to the Lord but one thing was certain, he would play a pivotal role in the upcoming war against the horde. The fate of this community unknowingly rested within the hands of Dimitris.
Dimitris now understood why Jason brought him here, he must have displayed this strange defect to him in one form or another.
The morning came and the boy had disappeared into thin air, there was no record of him and the files that had his identity within had vanished.
Jason woke up from his long slumber, he was feeling like himself again somewhat but he was still feeling off.
He couldn’t pout around forever and to his surprise, he woke up without Lillian being a nuisance.
This was something that irritated him but he also realized that it had become a routine.
He knew that Rachel must have been the reason why she wasn’t here this morning ever since what happened between them.
Jason knew this was for the best, he needed time to sort out himself but something told him that this was a change that couldn’t be kept under control so easily.
He knew that there was a possibility of this being a permanent side effect, everything was going to shit but his priority remained focused on the looming threat.
He knew the dangers that awaited them and this community was nowhere near ready to protect itself from a horde of evolved zombies.
The fact that the army of the dead multiplies with each kill made fighting them a lot harder.
Jason knew that they would be had in less than an hour with what he had seen.
They were capable of speech and they were also capable of using weapons, they acted exactly as a human would.
This meant that it would also make it harder for the people here to discern the zombies from the humans.
Dimitris had issued a gag order and Jason had no problems listening but he wondered what consequence that order could entail.
A knock on his door startled him, he wasn’t expecting anyone but it was probably Rachel.
She was most likely here to talk about what happened the day before and Jason prepared himself for what was to come.
He swung the door open and saw Allison on his steps, Jason was confused as to why she was there but he didn’t let her know this.
"Hey Allison, what’s up?" Jason questioned in the most casual tone he could muster.
"Hi Jason, how’re you?" Allison asked but she expected him to step aside and welcome him into his home but he didn’t, his body firmly blocking the door.
"I’m good, I must have been tired..." Jason responded with a smile, and Allison smiled in response.
"Are you going to welcome me in or...?" Allison asked in a rhetorical voice.
"Ah! I’m sorry! I forgot for a minute," Jason responded, stepping aside in the process to allow Allison into his house but the moment she walked past him, his facial expression changed even though she didn’t see it.
Jason wore his mask back on as a fake smile creased his face, turning around to face the lady who had intruded on his privacy.
Why was she here? It couldn’t be because of what happened with Rachel, he has known Rachel enough to know that she wouldn’t blurt out such details to anyone so was it because of what happened between them before he left on the raid on the hospital?
That sounded a lot more plausible and that was what he was going with.
"I need to talk to you, Jason," Allison began, taking a seat to which Jason responded by taking the seat opposite her, this established clear boundaries even if it was nonverbal.
"I don’t bite you know..." Allison said but Jason chuckled at this response.
"I don’t trust myself enough to do the same," Jason gave a cheeky response that made Allison look like she was the one overthinking this gesture but both of them knew what was happening.
"What is it you need to talk about?" Jason questioned, he wanted to get right to the point because he didn’t have the time to be wasting around,
He also knew it wouldn’t be a good look if Rachel came right now and saw Allison as it would leave room for interpretation.
"Jason, I know you know," Allison said bluntly, not mincing her words but Jason thought about playing coy or letting her know directly that he was aware of her communication with the Specters.
Luckily, Allison didn’t wait for him to give a verbal response because she planned to tell him everything.
"I have been in contact with the Specters..." Allison said, her voice wavering like she sounded unsure if this was the right thing to do.
Jason remained silent because he knew that there was more she needed to say.
"There is something I need to tell you but for you to understand, I need to take you back to the beginning," Allison muttered.
Jason was surprised, this sounded like it was going to be a long story but what brought about this change of heart?
"Are you sure you want to tell me?" Jason inquired, trying to confirm she was doing this of her own free will.
Allison nodded but she got up to her feet and walked towards the door.
"But not now, meet me at this address..." Allison said, scribbling something down on a paper before handing it over to Jason.
She had to write it down because the location was specific and she was certain that Jason.
"Meet me there, I will tell you everything you need to know," Allison said before walking out the door.
Jason stood there before looking at the address written down.
[[That handwriting...]]
Chronos interfered with his thought process prompting Jason to question what it saw.
"What about it?" Jason questioned.
[[They are the same...]]
Chronos informed Jason and Jason’s jaw dropped the moment he realized what his system was talking about.
"Allison... She is the one that wrote that suicide note?!"
