Chapter 12 We are mages from Fairy Tail!
Chapter 12 We are mages from Fairy Tail!
"Chase, you bastard, didn't you say you had no magic?!"
Natsu, who was being suppressed by the lightsaber, was terrified.
"So, you're still too young, Natsu."
Chess smiled calmly and swirled the teacup in his hand.
"Chess, Natsu made me scratch the coffee table and stuff. If you want to settle scores, go find him. I'm innocent!"
Happy looked terrified and betrayed Natsu without hesitation.
"You damn Happy, are you even a buddy anymore?!" Natsu roared in anger.
"Don't worry, neither of you will escape."
Chase smirked and strode forward, walking alongside the Dark Magician Girl, gradually closing in on them.
Natsu and Happy were quite frightened by this aura. Unable to move, they hurriedly looked at Lucy, their clear eyes filled with hope.
Lucy, save me!
"Aha, ahaha, then I won't bother Mr. Chase any longer!"
After saying that, Lucy ran off without even looking back.
"Feed Lucy, don't leave us behind."
"We're Fairy Tail mages, after all!!"
Watching Chess slowly raise his fist, which was the size of a sandbag, Natsu and Happy were completely plunged into despair, shaking their heads and struggling.
As Lucy left Chase's house and walked across the stone bridge over the city river, she heard two loud booming sounds overhead.
Two dazzling shooting stars streaked across the night sky and disappeared into the horizon with a "ding".
Faintly, one could still hear Natsu's roar filled with resentment:
"You bastard Chase, I'll be back!"
"like!"
"Nazhabi and Mr. Chase really have a great relationship~"
With a smile on her lips, Lucy sighed softly and quickened her pace.
She wanted to go back quickly and add a new label to Chase in the novel:
"A chuunibyou (middle school syndrome) guy" and "a complete pervert!"
On the other side, Chess, who had successfully dealt with Natsu and Happy, sat back on the sofa and looked up.
Through the hole in the ceiling shaped like a person and a cat, you can see the vast night sky dotted with stars.
"I made a mistake. I subconsciously thought this was the guild." Chess sighed in frustration.
No matter how much trouble they cause in the guild, it's fine, since Guild Master Makarov's pension will cover it.
But it's different at home; he has to pay for repairs out of his own pocket.
"It's been over a year, and Natsu and Happy are still as cute as ever. They also seem to have gotten a lot stronger."
The Dark Magician Girl residing within the card wasn't worried at all. She had thoroughly enjoyed the beating, and even the anger she felt from being instantly defeated by the Flame God Dragon Ignia had dissipated considerably.
From Chess, she learned that the tyrannical fire dragon shared the same father as Natsu and was his nominal brother.
"That being said, it's still quite a distance from the level I expected," Chase shook his head.
After a full day of interaction, he had a general idea of Natsu's current strength and that of most of the guild members.
Fighting to the death with the enemy is a battle, and fighting among your own people is also a battle. The card-bursting mechanism in Duelist's Soul has no restrictions in this regard; it is only related to the intensity of the battle.
When Chess first joined Fairy Tail, he took advantage of the guild members to collect enough starting cards.
Although he was beaten black and blue by monsters like Erza and Laxus back then, he gradually grew to be on par with them as an S-class.
This was one of the reasons he chose to go out and carry out a ten-year mission a year ago.
He's already ruined most of the cabbages in the guild!
"It's because Master is getting stronger too fast!"
The dark magician girl had a resolute expression, a slight smile on her lips, and her large eyes were fixed on Chess.
Having traveled the continent of Giltina, she knew very well how many battles Chess had gone through to achieve his current strength.
"It's not me, it's us," Chase corrected earnestly.
He reached out and touched the heavy deck. A screen of light flickered before his eyes, revealing the card monsters that were silently watching him.
"Hehe, you're right~"
The Dark Magician Girl was anything but modest, patting her chest and readily admitting it.
……
The next morning, the bright and gentle sunlight shone on the earth, dispelling the darkness of the night.
The cattle and horses in the town begin their new day's work, and the streets are bustling and prosperous.
Chess had a rare good night's sleep. After contacting the construction workers who were repairing the house, he went out and headed towards the guild along the city river.
"You damn Chase, what the hell are you doing back here? If you have nothing better to do, get out there and do some work!"
"Please, let's buy a sea-view apartment by the sea, otherwise I'll have to renew my life accident insurance, which I stopped paying for a year!"
"Don't stand so close! My house was just renovated recently!"
……
When the neighbors saw Chess, they began to hurl insults at him and urged him to leave immediately, their faces filled with panic.
They were terrified that if they turned around, their cozy little home would collapse in some unknown explosion.
It's easy to imagine how reckless Chase must have been to leave such a lingering shadow on them.
To win the title of number one in destruction among Fairy Tail, where everyone is a demolition team, is undoubtedly a prestigious achievement!
"Haha, it's really touching. I didn't expect that after more than a year, everyone would still be as enthusiastic as before."
Chess waved and greeted the surrounding residents with a hearty laugh, seemingly oblivious to their presence.
The neighbors, adults and children alike, all exclaimed in unison: "You're so incredibly hospitable!"
"Keep in touch when you have time. I think I'll be staying in town for a while this time." Chase automatically ignored the keywords.
Bang bang bang!
With just one sentence, the neighbors shut their doors, and the more cautious ones even closed their windows.
"Hey, everyone here is really nice, it's just a shame they're all so shy."
Chase smiled and shook his head, ignoring them.
Amidst the "enthusiastic" greetings of the residents along the way, he arrived at the Fairy Tail guild.
Although it was still early morning, quite a few people had already appeared in the guild.
Some were passed out on the table, clutching wine jugs, while others swayed back and forth in front of the order board, and still others were flirting with women on either side of them...
In short, it's chaotic, with a very Fairy Tail guild atmosphere.
"Chess? I didn't expect you to be here so early."
A gentle, sweet voice came from behind the bar. Looking in the direction of the voice, Mira, dressed in a black evening gown, came over with slightly hurried steps.
"Hey, good morning, Mira," Chase greeted her.
"Good morning."
Mira nodded in response at first, then her brows furrowed slightly, and her fair and flawless face showed a hint of urgency, as if something important had happened.
"Chess, if there's nothing else, you shouldn't stay in the guild for now."
"What's wrong?" Chase asked in surprise.
"The president seems to be planning to kill you..."
"Chess!!"
Before Mira could finish speaking, accompanied by an angry roar, a four- or five-meter-tall, pitch-black monster suddenly leaped down from the second floor.
Boom!
The monster landed, and the enormous impact shook the entire guild, instantly sending dust flying everywhere.
Cana woke up from her drunken stupor, Nab, who was swaying on the order board, stopped, and Loki, who was lying in the beauty's arms, also looked up at her.
The dust that was stirred up quickly dissipated, revealing Makarov's gigantic form.
"Chess, do you have anything to explain to me about how you destroyed most of a town in the Kingdom of Ogaso on the continent of Giltina?!"
Makarov, furious, threw the stack of documents he was holding onto the ground.
He thought that all he needed to deal with was the issue of apologizing for the failure of the ten-year mission.
To my utter surprise, Chase surprised him with something huge!
The person only arrived yesterday afternoon, but the complaint letter and report arrived this morning!
