Chapter 23 Gene Key
Chapter 23 Gene Key
Yangon, the secret chamber of the general's mansion.
Acha's fingers left afterimages as they typed on the keyboard. Finally, the hard drive she had brought back from the "Ghost Eye" base made a soft "click" sound—the encryption had been cracked.
"Mr. Lin, look at this." Acha's voice trembled slightly.
On the computer screen, the previously complex gene sequence map was suddenly highlighted, revealing a previously undiscovered redundant code coiled like a venomous snake within the elegant DNA strand. It was an extremely sophisticated biochip program, codenamed "Pandora."
"This isn't an ordinary genetic defect." Lin Yu leaned closer to the screen, his right eye's "Emperor's Eye" automatically activating its microscopic mode, translating the obscure data stream into information he could understand. "This is a nanoscale neural blocker. They implanted the 'Inhibition Lock' into Suya's nervous system!"
Just then, a soft scream came from outside the secret room.
Lin Yu turned around abruptly and saw Su Ya leaning against the door frame, her face ashen, cold sweat pouring down her forehead, her whole body curled up on the ground, trembling in pain. Her hands were tightly gripping her neck, where the triangular birthmark was glowing with an eerie purplish-red light.
"It hurts so much... Big brother... It feels like there's a knife cutting into my brain..." Suya's voice was broken and filled with despair.
"It was the emotional fluctuation that triggered the 'inhibition lock'!" Lin Yu instantly understood the reason. The explosion and the worry just now caused Su Ya's emotions to fluctuate violently, activating the nanobots in her body.
"System, can you cancel this?" Lin Yu frantically shouted in his mind.

[Analysis in progress...external decryption key discovered.]
[Key location: General's Mansion, Ancestral Hall, inside General Aung San's family heirloom jade pendant.]
Without the slightest hesitation, Lin Yu picked up Su Ya and rushed towards the ancestral hall of the General's Mansion.
General Aung San was outside dealing with the aftermath of the bombing, and the ancestral hall doors were tightly shut. Lin Yu kicked open the copper lock and rushed inside, carrying Su Ya in his arms.
"Where is the general's family heirloom jade pendant?" Lin Yu asked urgently.
"It's...it's in the hidden compartment at the very top of the altar!" Acha followed in, panting.
Lin Yu leaped onto the offering table and reached into a hidden compartment at the top of the shrine. His fingertips touched a cool, smooth piece of jade. It was a piece of dark green ancient jade, with simple and unadorned carvings and intricate runes engraved on it.
"System, scan the jade pendant!"

[A micro-laser-etched code has been discovered.]
[Match successful: Suya gene sequence.]
[Transmitting decoding key... Transmission complete.]
A faint blue light suddenly appeared on the surface of the jade pendant, and a string of numbers and symbols composed of light dots was automatically projected into the air.
"This is... the unlock code!" Acha quickly took out his laptop and entered the code into the newly cracked hard drive program.
"Decryption in progress... Virus removal in progress... Neural node resetting in progress..."
The progress bar on the computer screen was jumping wildly.
Suya's pain did not stop; she began to convulse violently, and blood even seeped from her mouth.
"Hurry! Hurry!" Lin Yu held Su Ya's hand tightly, feeling her life slipping away bit by bit, and his heart felt as if it were being torn apart.
"drop--"
A crisp notification sound rang out.
"Clearance complete! Neural blocker is now dormant!"
With Acha's cheer, the purplish-red light behind Suya's neck instantly faded, returning to its original pale red. Her body trembled violently, then she exhaled a long breath, and her tense body finally relaxed.
"Suya! Suya!" Lin Yu called out anxiously.
Suya slowly opened her eyes, her gaze gradually clearing from confusion. Looking at Lin Yu's sweat-drenched face, she smiled weakly, "Big brother... I don't hurt anymore. I... I think I had a very, very long dream."
"What did you dream about?" Lin Yu gently wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth.
"I dreamt..." Suya frowned, trying hard to recall. Suddenly, her eyes sharpened, revealing a fierceness completely different from her usual gentle demeanor. "I dreamt that in that laboratory, someone was teaching me... how to kill."
Lin Yu's heart skipped a beat.
Just then, hurried footsteps suddenly came from outside the ancestral hall.
"Who?" Acha asked alertly, drawing her gun.
"It's me." General Aung San's steady voice rang out. He pushed open the door and entered, looking at the mess on the floor and the people in the ancestral hall. A complex emotion flashed in his eyes. "I just received news that the remaining forces of 'Phoenix' on the border have suddenly all retreated. It seems you have succeeded."
Lin Yu stood up, shielding Su Ya behind him, and looked directly into General Aung San's eyes: "General, you already knew the secret of this jade pendant, didn't you?"
General Aung San sighed, walked to the offering table, and gently stroked the family heirloom jade pendant that Lin Yu had taken out.
"I retrieved this jade pendant from beside the bodies of Suya's adoptive parents. At the time, I thought it was just an ordinary keepsake, until I later discovered that whenever Suya came near this jade pendant, her high fever would subside," General Aung San said slowly. "I had some suspicions, but I never imagined that they had planted a bomb inside Suya's body."
"They didn't intend to kill her," Lin Yu said coldly. "They just wanted to control her, to turn her into an obedient 'weapon'."
Suya had already stood up. She looked at General Aung San, then at Lin Yu, her eyes filled with an unprecedented determination.
"Big brother, General," Suya spoke, her voice weak yet carrying a chill, "Now that the 'suppression lock' has been broken, can I also retrieve my previously sealed memories?"
She raised her hand and gently pressed it against her temple.
"I remember... in that lab, there were many children like me. We were locked in glass jars. They injected us with drugs to make us... feel pain, and then... kill each other."
Lin Yu and General Aung San exchanged a glance, both seeing shock and anger in each other's eyes.
"And..." Suya's eyes suddenly became unfocused, as if she had traveled through time. "I remember, the head of that laboratory... had a scar on his face. His name was... 'Doctor'."
"Doctor?" Lin Yu pondered the title.
[System notification: Key clue figure "Doctor" detected.]

"No matter who he is," Lin Yu clenched his fist, his eyes flashing with murderous intent, "since Su Ya has him in her memories, then we'll follow this lead and drag him out of his rat hole!"
Suya looked at Lin Yu and gently tugged at his sleeve: "Big brother, I'm not afraid of pain anymore. They used to lock me up because they were afraid I would awaken. Now the lock is open... I want to know who I really am. I also want to... grab that 'Doctor' with my own hands."
By now, the night outside the window had grown even darker.
Although the "suppression lock" has been broken, an even greater mystery has just begun to unfold. What is the ultimate goal of the person known as "Doctor," the laboratory that created Suya, and the mysterious "Phoenix" organization?
Looking out at the dark night sky, Lin Yu secretly vowed: no matter what lies ahead, whether it be a mountain of knives or a sea of fire, or an even deeper abyss, he would seek justice for Su Ya and for himself.
"Get ready," Lin Yu turned to Acha and General Aung San, "We're going to that place from Suya's memories. We'll dig three feet into the ground to find that 'Doctor'!"
The crimson gene has awakened, and the blade of revenge is about to be drawn.
