Chapter 623: Abyssal and Dark Elves
Chapter 623: Abyssal and Dark Elves
"The plague could have been a part of the Dark Elves initial plot." Victor suggested. "I mean, we know that it was able to infect just about everyone and even machines. So it could have been an attack."Jace shook his head while Cain chirped in. "The plague was a nanomachine infection. The only way it could be combatted was if someone had nanomachines in their body like nanohumans do."
"Meaning that it is the Dark Elves or the Dark Elves are a result of the plague." Valkyrie pointed out. "He is going to be pissed when he sees this." She whispered under her breath.
"Not that pissed. The Oda Empire mostly had people with nanomachines. So for them to have been this heavily attacked. They must have been singled out." Jace told her. "Also it is more likely that they are fighting back which is why the dots cover their entire territory."
"How much time until our gateway is open?" Valkyrie asked.
"Still needs more time to form." Cain answered as Jace looked at the upside down portal in front of them. It looked like a ripple in space now. With more than just light blue. There was a vortex of colors appearing throughout the portal now.
Jace sat back down and leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms as he looked at the navigational data he finished inputting. It would only be a moment once they started. But they had to wait for that moment. "Sit and meditate. We have the time."
—---------------------------
"The outsiders are leaving." A gravely voice announced in what looked like a void of space with shimmering stars. But it was actually an Abyssal command room and the shimmering stars were the bones and skulls of creatures that had been consumed. More than any other creature there were humans littered among the skeletal bodies.
Floating in this void-like room were several different figures. Some with tentacles on their faces. Some with sharp defining fingers like clawed limbs. Some were blobs of mass. But the one that all of them were looking at was the shapeless thing that seemed to be absorbing all light in the room.
"Should we try again?" One of the tentacle faced creatures blurbed out.
"No," The shapeless answered. "We will have another opportunity. But trying now will only make us ’the hunted’. Just like the mortella and daemons will be." There was a shiver at that. "Soon we will be able to enter the universe’s cradle. We must prepare for that. We do not want another group of Chosen to appear and stop us."
""Yes, Master!"" They all agreed.

A woman with dark skin and pointed ears sat on a pile of polished bones. She was wearing a purple dress with see through black lace along the edges and covering the opening that exposed the upper portion of her cleavage.
Her shimmering black hair was long and ran down along the side of the throne. Looking like a waterfall of space. Her eyes were black but at the moment they were glowing purple. She frowned as the door to the palace flew open and both several dark skinned guards and a variety of races and people in chains.
"I thought I said I was not to be disturbed." She growled out in anger. Already aware what this was about and that it was not going to end the way they thought.
"Dear Chieftess, we brought these recently captured hostages as an example of this galaxy’s weakness." One of the men leading the prisoners kneeled.
"I am already aware that you are attempting to go behind my back." The Chieftess declared before looking around the room at several guards who flinched in panic. "The ability to see the future does include our own people. No matter how spontaneous and reckless your decisions are."
"Even if it is..." The man who was kneeling slowly stood up. "Your weakness is revealed by your lack of action."
"No, my lack of action is a result of me wanting to bide our time and build up our numbers before we had to leave." The Chieftess slowly stood up, her hips moving seductively as her eyes snapped over to one of the prisoners and she smiled.
The man slowly reached for the weapon on his hip. "It will be your death."
She reached out her hand and the man glowed purple before floating in the air. His limps splayed away from his body as his bones could be heard cracking. "You lowborn mongrel. You dare make an attempt for my position." She waved her hand and he flew through the room and out of a window. She then spun around and looked around. "Prepare the fleet."
"Where to?" One of the guards stepped forward and asked.
"Another galaxy. Prey, are you there?" She looked towards the black cloaked figure whose form appeared to be covered in black smoke. It was standing next to the throne. Sometimes his consciousness was present, sometimes he was somewhere else.
"I am." Prey answered, a wave of shivering and cold moved through the room as anyone close to the form took a step back. Aside from the Chieftess who smiled.
"Good, your Predator is back." She declared. "My people and I are leaving before we get caught up in the second half of this war. I suggest you send a ship containing your consciousness to another galaxy to preserve yourself. Because I can already foresee your death if you stay."
"I figured. I sent a fraction of my consciousness to a galaxy that is relatively unassuming." Prey explained. "But I will still stay and fight. Mine and Predator’s tale needs to end with one of us dead."
She nodded and made a noise of approval before spinning back around and walking across the room until she stood in front of one of the humans that were in chains. She brought a hand up to the bottom of the woman’s chin and slowly tilted her head up so she was looking her in the eyes. "You will have back what remains of your nation. I apologize for occupying it for the last two years. But it was necessary to manufacture and birth the amount of Dark Elves we needed to take a galaxy all for ourselves."
The woman went from a soft gaze to one of anger as she realized she had been discovered somehow. She thumbed the hidden blade that was up her sleeve. She was considering pulling it out and slicing the woman’s throat open. "Why are you just now leaving?"
"I wanted to push my luck but now that Jace Wintry has returned..." She smiled and turned away. "Staying any longer has become a death sentence."
The woman lost her chance as she flinched at the mention of her grandson. "Jace...? How? When?"
"In about... half an hour he will arrive. As for how," She shrugged. "I do not know either. Which is part of the problem with being in the same galaxy as Jace Wintry." The Chieftess explained. "He- in a way- is a lot like us. Always learning how to break rules that were thought unbreakable before."
"Do you think you will be able to get away that easily?" The woman asked as the Chieftess made a hand signal and all of the dark elves began walking out of the room.
"I think that you have enough problems without us sticking around and I think we were preparing for this situation so our evacuation should only take an hour." The Chieftess declared as she walked away. "Good luck on your endeavors, Prey."
The figure made of black smoke fell apart into black sand before it moved like a snake to the open window and out of the room. Probably to hunt for whatever it needed to fight Jace.
Once the room was void of Dark Elves. One of the other prisoners. An Orc. Then turned and looked at the woman. "Boss, what do we do now?"
The chains fell off her wrists. "Discard the disguises. Do not interfere with the dark elves’ departure but do not let them take any artifacts, slaves, or prisoners with them." The woman ordered as she looked at the still armored corpse that was skewered and hanging on the back wall above and behind the throne. "Also get some ladders. I would like to bury the former Emperor as soon as possible."
"Yes, Empress." Another of her subordinates bowed their heads before racing off to disseminate her orders. While the rest secured the throne room to make sure the dark elves had left.
They may not believe the Dark Elf Chieftesses words. But the Empress did. She knew all about the dark elves before they even appeared in this galaxy. Reborn as they were. Which is probably why the Oda Empire were picked as their hunting grounds. They limited the only country that had historical records of them.
The dark elves’ ability for foresight was a terrifying one. Yet somehow, Jace terrified them. Is the Spectre race really that terrifying?
