Reborn As Noble

Chapter 1372: Late and Annoyed ( 1372 )

"Umm... you didn’t notice?" Lyzia tilted her head, glancing at Celine with a puzzled expression. "Didn’t he say his name was ’Javier de Armand’? That means ’Javier of Armand family.’ That’s how the Armand royal family or noble in the human nation introduces themselves."Celine stammered, her face flushing even deeper as she fidgeted nervously.

"I-I thought he said ’Javier de Armand’ as in... you know... ’Javier from Armand’?! Like he was just... a noble from Armand! I didn’t think it meant he was the prince! I thought he was just... a delegation member! A common noble or something!"

Lyzia stared at her for a moment, then let out a soft giggle behind her hand.

"Celine... the nation is called Armand. And his name is Javier de Armand. That’s like saying ’Javier of Armand.’ If he were just a noble from Armand, he would have introduced himself as ’Javier of House So-and-so’ or ’Javier of some territory.’ But he said ’de Armand.’ That literally means he belongs to the ruling family of Armand itself."

Celine’s face turned an even deeper shade of crimson as she processed the information, her eyes darting between Lyzia and Javier. She mumbled softly, her voice barely audible.

"B-but... in my country, we don’t use titles like ’de’ or ’von’ when introducing ourselves... If someone is from the royal family, they directly say ’Prince’ or ’Princess’ before their name. Like myself. ’Princess Celine of Divinity Nation, daughter of King Garreth’. And for nobles, they add their title like Archduke, Duke, or Baron... I’ve never heard of a royal introducing themselves without their title... So I thought... ’Javier de Armand’ just meant he was from Armand... not that he was the prince..."

She trailed off, her cheeks burning as she realized how foolish she sounded.

Just as Lyzia opened her mouth to explain further, another flick landed on her forehead.

Javier exhaled, shaking his head.

"If you keep explaining, I’ll be late for escorting her to Armand."

"Mou!!" Lyzia rubbed her forehead, puffing her cheeks in protest. Faelar and Nyvorlas both stiffened, doing their best to keep their faces neutral, though their shoulders shook with barely concealed laughter.

Lyzia turned sharply, narrowing her glare at them. Both men immediately flinched, averting their eyes and clearing their throats.

Javier shoved both hands into his pockets and started walking.

"Alright. Enough chit-chat. Let’s go. And Lyzia..."

"Hmmph! What?" She crossed her arms, turning her head away in a sulk.

Javier glanced over his shoulder, a teasing smile on his face. "After this, you’re heading straight back to the palace. No detours, no sightseeing. Got it?"

"Ehhh!?" Lyzia stomped her feet, her arms swinging loosely at her sides, her face twisted in a spoiled, childish pout. "I want to come with you too!"

She rushed forward, grabbing Javier’s arm and looking up at him with wide, pleading eyes.

"Pleaseeeeee~?"

"No. You can’t."

"But Brother-in-law!" She stomped again, her glare narrowing as she pouted, then grabbed his arm and shook it vigorously.

"I want to go to Armand too! I’ve never been there before! I promise I won’t cause any trouble! I’ll behave! Please, please, please!"

Javier let out a weary exhale. "No can do. You’re the youngest princess of the Elven Nation. There’s no way I can just take you on a random trip without proper authorization."

"But Liana is also a princess of the Elven Nation!" Lyzia protested, still clinging to his arm as they walked. "And she’s in Armand all the time! Besides, I wasn’t a princess before Aunt Mylezra married your father! Before that, I was just a noble’s daughter! That means I’m basically still just a noble!"

Javier pinched the bridge of his nose, letting out a long sigh.

"That’s not how it works, Lyzia."

"But you’re the Prince of Armand! Surely you can do something!" Lyzia protested, still clinging to his arm, shaking it lightly as she continued to plead. "Maybe ask my family? Inform them? Pleaseeeee~"

Javier shook his head firmly. "It’s not that simple, Lyzia. The Elven Nation and Armand Nation are strong allies, but that doesn’t mean Armand has any say in how your nation operates. We don’t interfere in each other’s internal affairs. I can’t just take you with me without proper permission from your family."

"Pleaseeeeee~ I’ve never asked for anything! Just this once, Brother-in-law~" Lyzia looked up at him with her best pleading face, her eyes wide and shimmering with hope.

Javier stared at her for a moment, then let out a slow exhale.

"You’re not Liana, so that face won’t work on me. And Liana has never made that face to me, so no."

Lyzia stopped walking, her expression shifting into a narrow-eyed pout. She crossed her arms and huffed.

"Fine then! If you won’t let me come with you, I’ll just lie down on the floor right here and not move until you change your mind!"

Javier pinched the bridge of his nose, letting out a weary exhale as he saw Lyzia squatting down with her cheeks puffed in defiance.

"You should ask your sister first before asking me."

Lyzia glanced up, narrowing her eyes with a slight pout on her lips. "I already did! Liana said to ask you!"

Javier shook his head and grunted, "Ugh... fine. Go contact your parents and ask for permission first. If they agree, then I’ll let you come with us. Sigh..." He turned away, muttering under his breath. "Why does this always happen to me? So annoying... now I’m going to be late, and Mother is going to be furious about this..."

Lyzia’s eyes lit up, jumped to her feet and threw her arms around Javier in a quick, tight hug before sprinting toward Nyvorlas, her hand extended.

"Nyvorlas! Give me your mana talkie!"

"E... eh?"

"It’s connected to the command center, right?" Lyzia said, her voice eager.

"But... Your Highness, don’t you have your own mana talkie?" Nyvorlas asked hesitantly, keeping his tone respectful.

"Just give it to me! Mou!" Lyzia snatched the mana talkie from Nyvorlas’s hand before running to the side of the windows, her voice already bubbling with excitement as she began contacting her parents.

Meanwhile, Celine stood quietly, her gaze fixed on Javier. She took in his features, his tall, lean frame, his broad shoulders, the sharp yet gentle lines of his face. Her heart fluttered, and a soft, dreamy smile spread across her lips.

I didn’t know he was this handsome...

Ehehe... eheheheh...

My future husband...

He’s this handsome...

I thought he was just some regular noble guy.

But now... seeing him like this...

Her face flushed deeply as she continued her thoughts.

Kyaaa~ I’m so lucky~

Thank you, God, for answering my prayer... for giving me a husband who is not only kind but also this handsome, with such a charming voice...
