Liana and Gloria had been called away by Fransesca. Felicia and Delya headed toward the library, with Gracelle following quietly behind them.

Mimi wandered through the courtyard, her steps slow and aimless as she made her way toward Javier’s personal workshop and the adjacent pekko pen.

"Nyaaa... I’m bored."

She glanced around, her tail swishing lazily as she tried to think of something to do.

"I wonder what I should do, nya?"

She stopped, tapping her chin with a finger.

"Big Sis is being called by Lady Mother. And Junior is being trained by Felicia-nee-sama and Delya..."

She let out a dramatic sigh.

"And I don’t want to read a book. That’s boring, nya."

Mimi headed toward the pekko pen with lazy steps, peeking inside where Piko, Peanut, Jito, Karu, and Blitz were all nestled comfortably, each tending to their eggs.

"Ehehee~"

She stepped inside and made her way to her own pekko, Jito, who was nesting at the far end. Mimi stopped and looked up at her.

"Ne ne, Jito~"

"Cuquawked?" Jito glanced down at Mimi, who was now squatting, her tail swaying gently behind her.

Mimi grinned up at her. "Can I see the egg?"

"Cuquawked!!" Jito lifted her chest slightly, revealing the large, beautifully patterned egg nestled beneath her.

"Wooo~ It’s huge, nyaaa!" Mimi bit her lower lip, both fangs peeking out as her tail swayed with excitement. "You already ate?"

"Cuquawked!"

Mimi giggled as Jito lowered her head, nuzzling her gently. She pulled back after a moment, placing both hands on her hips as she looked up at her pekko.

"I can’t wait to see the little pekko! I wonder what color it’ll be~"

She waved at Jito, smiling warmly. "You and the others should rest, okay? I’ll go get some food!"

Mimi headed toward the storage room next to the pen, her steps light and cheerful. She reached for a large sack of pekko feed, grabbing it with both hands and pulling with all her might.

"Eeeekkkk... heaaaavvvvyyyy nyaaa!"

She huffed, setting it down on the floor before grabbing the top and dragging it across the ground with all her might. After a few labored steps, she finally reached the pekko feed box.

"Made it... nya..." She panted, retrieving a knife and carefully cutting the sack open before slowly pouring the feed into the box with a satisfied grin.

Mimi wiped her brow, a satisfied grin spreading across her face. "Alright... next, the water! Ehehehe~"

She glanced around, her eyes landing on a huge steel bucket resting against the wall. "Nya? Is that what Big Sis always uses to get water?"

She picked up the heavy steel bucket, grunting slightly as she hoisted it, then stepped out of the pekko pen and looked around, squinting as she searched for a water source.

"Where’s the water source, nya?"

Her eyes scanned the area before landing on a large pond a fair distance away from the pen. It was connected to a small stream flowing in and another flowing out, creating a gentle, steady flow of fresh water.

Mimi narrowed her eyes, letting out a long, dramatic sigh.

"I didn’t know Big Sis had to walk this far every day just to get water for the pekko... How does she do it without complaining, nya?"

Mimi felt the steel bucket’s weight, grunting as she put it down. She walked around the pekko pen, her eyes scanning until she spotted something leaning against the wall of Javier’s personal workshop.

"Ehehe~ With this, it’ll be easy to get the water, nya!"

She pulled a small, sturdy trolley out, dusting it off before wheeling it over to the bucket. With a grunt, she lifted the bucket and placed it on top of the trolley, then began pushing it toward the pond, humming happily as her tail swayed in time with her steps.

Mimi reached the pond and stopped, lifting the bucket and carefully submerging it into the water. Once it was full, she struggled to lift it back out, her arms trembling with effort.

"Eeeeeeppp!!"

She managed to heave it out and set it on the ground, wiping her brow with a relieved sigh.

"Nyaaa!" She puffed her cheeks, glaring at the bucket before noticing movement nearby.

Mimi glanced up and saw several pekko drinking peacefully from the pond. A wide grin spread across her face.

"Nya! You, you! Come here, nya!"

"Cuquawked?" One of the pekko tilted its head curiously.

"Help me lift this up and put it on the trolley~"

"Cuquawked..." The pekko turned its head, looking like it was about to wander off.

Mimi’s eyes lit up. "I’ll give anyone who helps me a slice of roast meat later! Ehehehe~"

The other pekko slowly wandered off with smug, lazy strides, leaving only one pekko standing there, staring at Mimi with a curious tilt of its head.

Mimi grinned, holding up two fingers. "I’ll give two slices! Can you help me here, nya~?"

"Cuquawked." The pekko squawked softly before walking over to Mimi, glancing down at her, then at the huge steel bucket. It leaned its head down, using its strong beak to grip the handle, and lifted the bucket with ease, placing it gently onto the trolley.

"Thanks, nya!"

Mimi was about to start pulling the trolley when she noticed the pekko was still standing there, staring at her expectantly.

"Eh? You want the reward now?"

"Cuquawked!!"

"I said later, nya!" She patted her clothes and short pants, then noticed a large chocolate wafer bar sticking out of her back pocket. She pulled it out and showed it to the pekko. "Will this be good for now?"

"Cuquawked!!" The pekko’s beak curled into a smirk before bobbed its head eagerly.

Mimi unwrapped the chocolate wafer bar and held it out. The pekko snapped it up in an instant, swallowing it whole before letting out a happy squawk.

"Ehehe~ Later, you come back again, okay? I’ll give you roast meat."

"Cuquawked!!"

After a while.

Mimi wiped her forehead with her arm after finishing pouring the water into the pekko’s water trough. She glanced around inside the pekko pen, making sure everything was in order, before stepping outside.

She stretching her arms above her head before her eyes landed on a huge, sturdy tree near Javier’s personal workshop. She rubbed her chin thoughtfully, her tail swaying gently behind her.

"Nya?"

A wide grin spread across her face, her tail swaying faster in excitement as an idea formed in her mind.

"Ehehe~ Since Husband isn’t back yet, and he probably won’t be until this afternoon or later. I guess I’ll start my own little project, nya~"
