"What is it?" Hayley Cole muttered discontentedly, "Does he despise me? What did I do for him to take out his anger on me?""No." Charlotte Reed quickly explained, "How could James do such a thing? Do you still not know the kind of person James is?"
"Hayley, James wants some peace because he’s blaming himself. He wants you to have a good life, to not be looked down upon by others. He wants to prove you chose the right person, but now he’s left Seymour Corporation and started his own venture; the company’s business... someone has meddled with it behind the scenes..." Charlotte said worriedly.
"Who? Who did it?" Upon hearing someone had harmed James Reed, Hayley immediately asked angrily, forgetting about her own grievances.
What’s more, James is also working hard for her sake, after all.
"I don’t know who... but I can think of who might want to hurt James, though I have no evidence and can’t speak carelessly. Just, how could they be so vicious?" Charlotte’s hesitant words made Hayley understand.
"Was it Charles Seymour and his people again?" Hayley asked angrily.
"Without evidence, it’s not appropriate to suspect them like that." Charlotte smiled helplessly, shaking her head, then held Hayley’s hand, "Hayley, James has been under a lot of stress lately, don’t hold it against him. I’ll talk to him later."
