The surgery was still ongoing.
Nurses carrying several bags of plasma were coming in and out, and when Olivia asked about the situation, the nurses always sighed and shook their heads.
Olivia stood at the door, her body feeling a bit chilled, remembering Nicole’s weak voice and pale cheeks on the stairs, and pursed her lips as a hint of tenderness appeared in her eyes.
Nicole, don’t blame Auntie, I’m just doing what any mother would do. In the future, when you have children, you’ll understand that sometimes a mother would willingly go against her conscience for her child.
Beside Olivia, Andrea sneered coldly at the door of the operating room.

The surgery lasted over an hour before it ended.
The nurse pushed out Nicole, who was completely drained of color, and transferred her to the ward.
Olivia glanced at Nicole, and immediately shifted her gaze, guilt-ridden and frightened, not daring to look at Nicole’s face, which was so pale and lifeless.
The doctor emerged, relieved, and said to Olivia, who was waiting: "The patient needs to recuperate well. The patient already had a history of ectopic pregnancy and now faced miscarriage again. If not properly cared for, her future fertility might be jeopardized..."

You, as a mother-in-law, better help her recuperate well, or you’ll regret when there’s no longer a chance for childbirth! A daughter-in-law is also a person; treat her well. Marrying her into your family, causing her to pass through the gates of hell twice for the sake of family continuity; if you don’t treat her well, your entire family’s conscience won’t stand at peace, right?"
As soon as the doctor’s words ended, Olivia’s face turned stiff and ugly, while Andrea, who overheard there was a previous pregnancy before the miscarriage, felt even more disdain for Nicole’s ongoing entanglement with Jose Floyd, retorting irritably, "She’s not my mom’s daughter-in-law; I am the daughter-in-law!
