Chapter 4737 X Royal Family: New Life (Sixteen)
Schiller leaned against the bedside, eyes closed, as if taking a nap. With a creak, the door opened. A Spider-Man walked in, saying, "I heard Mr. Stark was ill, so I came to see him. Mr. Stark, are you alright... Oh, sorry."
Spider-Man quickly fell silent. He glanced at Stark, whose face was still somewhat pale, and Schiller, who seemed to be asleep leaning against the bedside, placed the gift in his hand on the bedside table next to him, and tiptoed away.
But at that moment, a storm of brainwaves enveloped him. Almost instantly, Spider-Man lost consciousness. When he awoke, he was on a spaceship, wielding a Force lightsaber, surrounded by Stormtroopers.
"Oh, what the hell? I've time-traveled?"
Spider-Man instinctively glanced at the lightsaber in his hand, then, without flinching, swung the hilt, planted his feet firmly in a horse stance, and swung the sword with both hands to strike. Although he had never studied swordsmanship, he had watched a lot of Star Wars, and his fighting style was surprisingly decent.
But more and more Stormtroopers were closing in, and Spider-Man was starting to struggle. Just as he was about to shoot a web to escape the encirclement, he saw another Spider-Man crash into the encirclement.
"Mr. Stark, I've come to visit you... What the heck???"
"Hey!" Spider-Man shouted to Spider-Man, "Hold your sword tight, Force Warrior, let's fight our way out!"
After a dizzying two-second period, the Spider-Man who entered later also swung his sword and began to slash. The two stood back to back, fighting off numerous enemy soldiers while still exchanging information about the current situation.
"Did Mr. Stark put some kind of invisible portal in his room? We didn't notice, so we were transported here?"
"How is that possible? Star Wars is a movie, how could we possibly travel to the Star Wars universe?!"
"Oh, I forgot, but I did believe that empires existed in the universe before I was ten years old."
"That's true, they are the three great empires."
"Come on, the three great empires can't compare to the empires in Star Wars." Spider-Man slashed with his sword, forcing back the White Walkers, and continued, "Do you think we'll ever see Darth Vader if we fight our way in?"
“I think we might be too late,” another Spider-Man said. “I see a bunch of soldiers’ corpses over there. The main character has probably already stormed in to find Darth Vader.”
"The protagonist? Who is the protagonist?"
“Of course it’s Tony Stark. This is his dream world,” Spider-Man said. “It’s clearly his childhood.”
“Oh, right, our generation doesn’t watch Star Wars much anymore,” Spider-Man said after thinking for a moment. “Is it because he’s sick, and there’s something wrong with his brainwaves that he’s pulled people into a dream?”
"Didn't you see Dr. Schiller when you came in? I have a feeling it was him. After all, fighting Star Wars in a dream is a bit too tiring, so it's normal for him to want to find some helpers."
"So how do we help him? Should we charge in?"
"Let's give it a try."
The two Spider-Men charged forward, wielding Force swords. Fortunately, their spider abilities were still usable; when they couldn't win, they used their webs to stick to the ceiling and escape, gathering the crowd together before coming down to fight again.
But more and more soldiers surged in, and the two were finding it difficult to hold on. Just as they were about to be overwhelmed by the soldiers, there was a loud "boom," and one of the decks suddenly burst open, with a huge Tyrannosaurus Rex charging in.
“Oh my God!” Spider-Man exclaimed.
Before they could say anything more, Schiller grabbed them both and pulled them onto the dinosaur. One Spider-Man was clinging to the dinosaur's neck, the other to its tail. The one in front yelled, "Doctor, what's going on?!"
"How should I know! Tony dreamt that Darth Vader sent men to hunt him down in the Jurassic Park, and I'm trying to find out where he's hiding right now!"
"Good heavens, he has such an imagination. Where are we supposed to find him? What if he got eaten by a dinosaur?"
“Just wait!” Schiller shouted. “Charles is on his way. He should be able to stabilize Tony’s mental state soon, and then we can leave these strange dreams behind…”
His words had barely left his lips when the dream shattered. Everyone regained consciousness in Stark's room. Stark also woke up.
He took a deep breath, then yawned widely, and said somewhat blankly, "Was I asleep? I knew those fever reducers had side effects..."
“Sorry I’m a little late.” Charles walked in from the doorway. “I need to get his brainwaves back before I can wake him up, otherwise I might scare him.”
Schiller woke up too. He sat up straight and sighed, “He slept for six hours, and I played Inception here for six hours, one dream after another, going through all the cultural and film works that impressed him in his childhood.”
Stark was still a little dazed, but he quickly realized what Schiller was talking about. He grinned and said, "When I'm sick, I have a lot of weird dreams, but that's good, it makes up for the regret that we didn't go on adventures together when we were kids, Schiller."
The two Spider-Men got up from the ground. The Spider-Man from the main universe rubbed his forehead and said, "Looks like we came at the wrong time. Are you alright, sir?"
“I’m fine.” Stark glanced at the gifts on the bedside table and said, “The Avengers should be busy, how come you have time to come see me?”
“No, they said they could use this opportunity to check things out in Clarkia, since only I can get on the island right now. But I just came to see you. I'll leave as soon as I know you're alright,” the local Spider-Man said.
“Don’t rush.” Charles smiled at him. “Apocalypse is back. The mutants want to fight in the arena. Do you want to stay and watch? After the fight, we can go soak in the hot springs together. Have you ever soaked in a natural volcanic hot spring?”
The local Spider-Man was clearly intrigued, asking curiously, "Volcanic hot springs? There's a volcano on this island?"
"Of course, there is an active volcano to the north. It is not very large, but it is active from time to time. There are also many underground hot springs. We are planning to build a hot spring resort."
“That’s amazing,” the local Spider-Man said. “I’ve never even been to a natural hot spring; they’re too far and too expensive. Can I really stay?”
"Yes, but considering that Clarkia Island is currently under sanctions and has poor relations with various countries, I think you could call your friends to let them know, in order to prevent them from thinking that we have detained you."
“Of course not,” the local Spider-Man waved his hand and said, “Everyone knows no one will make things difficult for Spider-Man, otherwise why would they let me come to the island? But I’ve never done anything for Clarkia, and I feel uneasy about being treated like this. Is there anything I can do to help?”
Spider-Man paused for a moment, then said somewhat apologetically, "I know that Clarkia is currently facing sanctions from many countries, especially the United States, but I've never been able to get involved in this matter, and the US government is unlikely to listen to me, so I'm afraid I can't help."
“It’s alright,” Charles said. “I’ve never considered America as a whole. You and the Avengers, or S.H.I.E.L.D., or other American mutants, they may not all be on the same side as the government, and they may not necessarily have any ill intentions towards Clarkia. We certainly won’t treat you as enemies. Relax and have fun.”
Before leaving, Charles patted the local Spider-Man on the shoulder. Spider-Man turned to look at him, staring at his retreating figure in silence for a long time.
As he walked out the door, the Spider-Man from the main universe approached and said, "Although we can't really influence the Earth government in this universe, as you said, no one will make things difficult for Spider-Man. Perhaps we can use this to resolve conflicts and create peace."
The local Spider-Man nodded thoughtfully.
Spider-Man from the main universe returned to the room where the Avengers were located. Iron Man from the main universe asked, "How is he? Is he really sick?"
Spider-Man nodded and said, "It looks like the fever has just broken. Don't be careless, the captain has already asked how to deal with it. If there's a solution, you'd better use it quickly."
“That’s strange,” the main universe Iron Man was no longer as smug as before; he was clearly worried. “That guy had the Arc Reactor embedded in his chest for so long, which proves he’s not an ordinary person. How did he get sick like this?”
“Normally, I wouldn’t be so worried,” Black Widow said, “but we just had a battle, and you were injured. If that comes out with the island’s rejection of you, you won’t just have a minor cold.”
“I’ll say it again,” Spider-Man sat down and looked at Iron Man from the main universe, “there’s no point in doing anything now but to withdraw immediately.”
The main universe's Iron Man seemed to think about it very seriously, then shook his head and said, "No, you have to finish what you start. You can't give up halfway."
"Although the solar system is safe now, and war shouldn't break out on Earth, there's always a chance of something going wrong. As you can see, the situation is very delicate right now, and any abnormality could... cough cough cough cough..."
The main universe's Iron Man suddenly coughed violently, and everyone rushed over. He was fine when he was speaking, but after coughing, his face turned red and his voice became hoarse.
At that moment, Captain America walked in and said, "Their solution is to use the Clare Flower, but that requires testing on those scientists first, and we'll probably need to observe them... What's wrong, Tony?"
The main universe's Iron Man stood up, and his mech flew in through the window. Even after donning the suit, he didn't stop coughing, muttering between coughs, "Cough cough cough... I think I might be a little... cough cough cough..."
Captain America made a quick decision: "Stephen, we can't let him stay on the island any longer! Take him away from here immediately, to the mainland or the moon, it doesn't matter!"
Doctor Strange paused briefly as Captain America's icy gaze swept over him: "This is not the time to settle your personal grudges. This is an order!"
With a "whoosh," the portal opened. Doctor Strange and the main universe's Iron Man departed. Black Widow sighed, "They're finally gone. Now we can have a real war council."
"Gather everyone and prepare for a meeting," Captain America from the main universe said. "Using sanctions to drive the mutants of Clarkia insane won't benefit anyone. We need to find a way to mediate."
