My Favorite Game Followed Me!

Chapter 840

Chapter 840

Anton knew that it was possible that even if something like a giant squid attacked Melinda, he wouldn’t be able to secure tentacle parts since, based on the information that was shared with him by the captain, the number and power of wizards that were guarding the ship was more than the ship Amelia had.Not because Melinda was richer and was able to secure more guards. It was because a large number of those wizards were also passengers going to the continent of Izmorta, and chose to guard the ship against danger to offset some of the cost of the ticket.

Anton had finally learned from the captain’s Chief Officer that the price of the ticket to Izmorta, especially when staying in such a high-end room as the one that was assigned to him, was considerable and would have taken a large chunk of the Rose Manor’s yearly budget. Thankfully, a large part of the cost was shouldered by the Ormundan authorities, probably as part of the reward for his contributions to the war between the allied human kingdoms and the Undead Coalition.

Anton never did care about those rewards and just let Raymond handle it. He didn’t even ask what those rewards were and just told the family butler that if they were coins or treasure, to just store them in the Rose Manor treasure vaults.

When he joined the war against the coalition, his main goal was to eradicate the undead and not for any reward. That was one of the reasons he didn’t care too much about what Ormunda gave him.

At the very least, the most important reward that Anton felt was the most valuable was the promise that the Sunder Family would be protected while they were living in Ormunda. That promise made the members of the family, like Romina, exceedingly happy because they could continue with the family businesses without worrying that a rival company would scheme against them.

In truth, Romina wasn’t worried about the cinema since there wasn’t a rival for that kind of business yet and would probably take the locals decades before they could achieve something near what Earth movies could offer. The only rival that the family had was the fashion magazine that started sprouting all over Ormunda, like mushrooms.

Romina and her now right-hand, Luna, weren’t worried about the magazine as well because they had something exclusive that other magazines didn't have, which was previews of upcoming movies that the cinema would show.

Anton stayed inside his rooms reading the information packet that the ship’s crew member had provided. He discarded his initial plan to roam around since, in his opinion, it would be best for him to do so once he had memorized all the information he needed to enjoy his exploration of the ship, Melinda.

He sat beside the large chair by the large window overlooking the ocean in his room. That was one of his favorite things in his room. The fact that it had a large window that could be opened made his room smell fresh.

Still, he made sure to activate one of his Frozen Orb Air Conditioners so that the wind inside his room was cold and comfortable. The temperature was a little high since it was already the middle of spring.

One good thing about his Frozen Orb Air Conditioner was that it didn’t matter if the room was open. The only downside was that the mana in the mana storage of the item would be consumed faster, but since it was easy enough for Anton to fill up the mana storage, which was just a couple of castings of his spells, that issue was negligible.

After reading the information about the ship, instead of starting his adventure, Anton decided to take a nap. He wasn’t in a hurry since the travel would take a total of a year and four months. He had all the time in the world to explore the ship and meet people.

Anton slept for about an hour, and when he woke up, he felt refreshed. He then spent the rest of the time leisurely leveling up his wizard character in the Diablo Immortal part of his Diablo System until evening. After that, he freshened up since he planned to eat dinner in one of the ship’s restaurants.

He chose to return to the Revere since, when he was reading the menu earlier, he was tempted by the selection and had only tried a few of them. He decided that he would switch to another restaurant once he had tasted all the food that the Revere offered.

The Revere was so high-class that the customers who were eating there were wearing the kind of clothes that were hard to wear. Because of his casual clothing, some of the customers started eyeing him, but when they saw how the maître d treated him, some of those who noticed him turned their gaze away. It wasn’t unique for some of the richest and most powerful to be eccentric enough to behave like a normal poor person, and since the restaurant host was full of respect when treating him, there was a good chance that Anton was one of those.

Anton didn’t care too much since he was there to eat the food, and he didn’t really like befriending snobby rich folks. He was satisfied with the restaurant's menu and enjoyed himself thoroughly. He also enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant since it did portray a truly high-end vibe that one usually could only see in movies.

Since the maître d was attentive to him, Anton didn’t experience anything negative from other customers. After dinner was done, he decided that he would return to the restaurant tomorrow for lunch and dinner to complete his goal of eating all of the food selection that the high-end restaurant offered.

Since the Revere was only one of the many restaurants inside the ship, once he had tasted all of the food there, he planned to cycle through all of the others.

When he tried to pay for his food, he was informed that Ormunda would cover all of his expenses. Anton just shrugged and left. He planned to watch a play in one of the many theaters inside the ship.

Thankfully, a few of those theaters were open even late at night. He enjoyed the play thoroughly. It was a simple love story, and the actors were very good. While watching the play, Anton felt like one of those rich folks roaming New York Broadway, and he didn’t mind that he was alone.

He knew that the delightful experience would wane and he would crave the company of others, but for now, he was enjoying himself thoroughly. He felt himself relaxing since pressure or expectations weren’t waiting for him, like before. He was just there, living his life.

After the play ended, he clapped thoroughly together with the other audience members, and soon he left. While walking, he stumbled into a book shop. He bought a book about the life of an ordinary farmer’s daughter who became a noblewoman. It was one of those Cinderella-type stories, and the simplistic style added to the relaxed vibe he was experiencing that night.

He stopped at a café, ordered a coffee, and started reading his book. He liked the fact that no one disturbed him, probably because it was late and there were few people around. He actually finished the book while he was sitting at a small table inside the café. Thankfully, it seemed like the café was open all day.

To make sure that the staff wouldn’t bother him, he kept ordering things and he those that he couldn’t eat or drink anymore, he stored them in his inventory.
